Toronto FC is playing some of their best soccer of the season, and the rest of MLS is starting to take notice.

After three Reds received the honour last week, on Monday, TFC head coach Greg Vanney and captain Michael Bradley were named to the Week 28 MLS Team of the Week fresh off leading Toronto to a 3-2 win over the streaking Colorado Rapids at BMO Field. Toronto also earned a 1-1 midweek draw with Eastern Conference leaders New York City FC in a game that the Reds should’ve won.

Led by their manager and captain, Toronto has bolted up to fourth in the Eastern Conference, all but clinching a 2019 playoff spot after a terrific run of play over the last two months. The Reds are 5-0-4 in their last nine in all competitions and haven’t lost a match since a 2-0 away defeat to the NY Red Bulls on Aug. 3.

Both Vanney and Bradley have played an integral part in TFC’s recent success. The Reds’ head coach has had to deal with various injuries and International call-ups during a very busy month, while Toronto’s captain has continued to be the engine in the midfield that keeps this team running.

TFC’s back in action Wednesday when they take on the Montreal Impact at Saputo Stadium in the first leg of the Canadian Championship Finals.
