Toronto FC designated player Jozy Altidore has appeared to avoid supplementary discipline at the hands of MLS’ disciplinary committee this week, after the TFC striker was involved in another on-field incident during Sunday night’s 3-2 win over the Colorado Rapids.

After a ball was kicked up into the air, a clearly frustrated Altidore bulldozed through Colorado defender Lalas Abubakar, appearing to make little attempt to play the ball.

With kickoff against LAFC roughly 24 hours away, it appears Altidore will be eligible to play Saturday night when the Reds take on the league-leaders. The designated player is the only Red to ever score against LAFC, as he bagged a brace in last year’s 4-2 loss to the 2018 expansion side.

Toronto can clinch their fourth playoff berth in five seasons with a win in Los Angeles (or any dropped points by Montreal, who are across town tomorrow night).

He was rested for the first half during Wednesday’s 1-0 opening-leg loss to the Impact in the Canadian Championship, so barring anything funny, you can expect to see the American starting tomorrow night’s match up top.
