In news that comes as no shock to anyone, the Canadian Premier League, like much of the world, is going dark as we wait out this new normal.

The league announced today that it will officially suspend the start of the season, which was set to kick off on April 11.
“We have made this decision in support of the announcement by Canada Soccer on March 13 banning all sanctioned soccer activities in Canada, and the directive made by our respective governments and health officials to ban all public gatherings,” Canadian Premier League commissioner David Clanachan said in a statement.
Notable that the press release makes no mention of possible return dates. Seems a smart move, as we’ve seen other entities, including MLS, roll back on earlier timelines.
There’s little denying that we are living through an epochal moment in human history. Stay tuned to WTR as we try to keep you up to date with the constantly changing landscape.
Most of all though, stay safe everyone!
Reminder, in additional to social distancing, remain vigilant in hygiene, handwashing, and watching for the signs of #Covid19 https://t.co/jx0c8YWjUb
