Toronto FC to face NYCFC in Round of 16 at MLS is Back Tournament

TORONTO, Canada—The 16th edition of Toronto FC vs New York City FC will take place this weekend.

The Reds will face NYCFC on Sunday, July 26 at 8:30 p.m. EST in the Round of 16 in the MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando, Florida.

With a win and two draws, TFC finished first in Group C, while NYCFC finished third in Group A with a win and two losses, advancing as a wildcard team.

These two teams most recently squared off on Mar. 7 earlier this season; the Reds won 1-0 on an 81st minute Achara goal. TFC also knocked New York out of the MLS Cup Playoffs in the 2019 MLS Eastern Conference semifinals.

Highlighted by several memorable wins, Toronto FC’s all-time record (regular season and playoffs) against New York City FC is 6-4-5 (W-L-T). Will Sunday evening be another classic?
