TORONTO, Canada—Major League Soccer announced on Tuesday that Toronto FC’s first game against D.C. United, originally set to take place on July 10, will now be played on Sunday, July 12 thanks to the Reds’ late arrival.

The game will also take place at 9 a.m. EST instead of 8 p.m. as a result.

TFC were initially scheduled to travel to Orlando on July 3, but sought out an extra day due to the COVID-19 situation in Florida. A day later, the team announced they had to delay their trip from Toronto after a member of their travel party reported experiencing symptoms related to COVID.

Finally, on Monday, after receiving negative test results, the Reds travelled to Orlando where they’ll isolate at The Swan and Dolphin Resort—the home of the players.

As it stands, TFC’s remaining games are still on schedule.

The tournament begins tomorrow in Orlando, Florida, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The finals are set for Tuesday, August 11, with the winner of the tournament receiving a spot in the 2021 Concacaf Champions League.
