Epi. 11: Waking The Red Weekly–TFC & Forge will play in a Final, eventually

CPLSoccer.com’s Charlie O’Connor-Clarke joins Mitchell Tierney, Jeffrey P. Nesker, and Michael Singh to discuss everything Toronto FC and, of course, the Canadian Premier League Final.

WELCOME BACK TO WTR WEEKLY!

After Montreal Impact’s Rudy Camacho served up a calamitous ‘double double’ and sent TFC into the Canadian Championship final, the Waking The Red crew look ahead to a highly anticipated tie against CPL side Forge FC.

With the ‘where’ and the ‘when’ still up in the air, the gang explore the logistical issues facing the tie and whether or not fans are likely to be in attendance; as Jeff puts it: ‘if there was ever a game that deserves fans its this one.’

The gang look back on TFC’s dramatic draw at DC United - with Greg Vanney’s men yet again surrendering a late goal - and question the tactical switch that left the midfield exposed.

And Charlie O’Connor-Clarke of CPL Soccer gives his view on the Island Games and the PEI bubble, praising Forge FC’s flexible tactics and goal scoring, and reviewing the performance of 4 TFC loanees that also took part in the tournament.
