We all know who the REAL number one is: Valour FC midfielder Rafael Galhardo of course! But here’s how we here at Waking The Red see the teams of the Canadian Premier League right now.
1 - Forge FC - Record - 14-2-8 44 points
Last match: Forge 4-1 HFX Wanderers, October 30
Last week: 1st
They’ve clinched at least third spot, and with four games left to play and sitting one point back of Pacific (who have just one game remaining) the odds seem good that Forge will top the table to end the regular season. How they fare in the CONCACAF League remains to be seen.
UP NEXT: York v Forge, Saturday, November 6, 1 pm ET
2 - Cavalry FC - Record - 12-8-6 44 points
Last week: 2nd
Last match: Cavalry 2-4 Valour, October 30
A stumble against Valour can be rectified with their final contest of the year against Pacific, with heavy implications for a home playoff date.
UP NEXT: Cavalry v Pacific, Sunday, November 7, 3:30 pm ET
3 - Pacific FC - Record - 13-6-8 45 points
Last week: 3rd
Last match: Pacific 1-2 York, October 30
This was not a red card foul:
RED CARD

Gianni Dos Santos is SENT OFF, and Iain Hume? He's not having it.

While Pacific was already behind at this point, this made it nearly impossible for them to tie things up in a game with suspect officiating.
UP NEXT: Cavalry v Pacific, Sunday, November 7, 3:30 pm ET
4 - Valour FC - Record - 10-4-13 34 points
Last match: Cavalry 2-4 Valour, October 30
Last week: 6th
Holy heck, where was this for the past almost four months? Back-to-back wins vaults them right back into the playoff picture. Huuuuuuge game for them against FC Edmonton this weekend.
UP NEXT: FC Edmonton v Valour, Saturday, November 6, 3:30 PM ET
5 - York FC - Record - 8-12-6 36 points
Last match: Pacific 1-2 York, October 30
Last week: 5th
Good news: York controls their own destiny when it comes to making the playoffs.
Bad news: Both of their remaining games come against Forge.
UP NEXT: York v Forge, Saturday, November 6, 1 pm ET
6 - HFX Wanderers FC - Record - 8-10-9 34 points
Last match: Forge 4-1 HFX Wanderers, October 30
Last week: 4th
This is truly a bad time to have the wheels fall off the bus. Joao Morelli returned on Saturday after missing four matches, but HFX will need to win and have some results go their way if they’re going to make another appearance in the playoffs.
UP NEXT: HFX Wanderers v Atletico Ottawa, Sunday, November 7, 1 pm ET
7 - Atletico Ottawa - Record - 6-7-14 25 points
Last match: Atletico Ottawa 1-1 York, October 24
Last week: 8th
A good opportunity to play spoilers in their final match of the season.
UP NEXT: HFX v Atletico Ottawa, Sunday, November 7, 1:00 pm ET
8 - FC Edmonton - Record - 5-9-12 24 points
Last match: Pacific 5-1 FC Edmonton, October 26
Last week: 7th
They got absolutely stomped by Pacific. Like “stop, stop, he’s already dead!” stomped.
