Toronto FC Prediction League | Round 6—Toronto FC vs. Cruz Azul

New, 51 comments

Guess tonight’s final score before tonight’s 10 pm EST kickoff to enter our prediction and be eligible to win a Toronto FC prize!

Welcome to Round Six of Waking The Red Prediction League!

Tonight is yet another trip to Mexico. The Reds might be down 3-1 heading into Estadio Azteca, but nights like these should still be cherished by TFC fans. There’s scant hope that we may return to Mexico in May, but if not, who knows when our next trip may be. Regardless of outcome, enjoy tonight, and hopefully the boys in Red will give us something of which we’ll remember the trip.

Shoutout to 613Representing TFC, BrokenEars, Coconut king for all predicting 3-1 losses for our Reds last week. All three were just one yellow card away from a perfect score of 5 points. We’ve now gone three straight gamedays without a perfect score of 5!

How do you rank? (spoiler alert: you’re ahead of me!) Check out the full standings below.

Now it’s time to grab some points. Can TFC win the match? Can TFC win the tie? Can I finally get a bonus question correct? There’s a lot on the table here, people!!

The point system for the 2021 season will be as follows:

  • 2 points for guessing the correct result (Win, Loss, or Draw)
  • 1 point for guessing the amount of Toronto FC goals scored
  • 1 point for guessing the amount of Toronto FC goals conceded

A perfect game prediction will yield a massive 4 points—and there will be a 5th point available each match for the bonus question!

BONUS QUESTION:

TFC will need to score early and often if they hope to survive in the competition. Cruz Azul won’t be parking the bus on their 3-1 lead at home, either.

So the bonus question this week, will the first 15 minutes see a goal from either side?

YES = there will be a goal before the clock hits 15:00

NO = clean sheet for both sides in the opening quarter hour.

Let me know what you’re feeling below. As much as I’d love a TFC victory tonight, I think I might be picking an L for the first time this season (come on, reverse jinx!!)

Come on you Reds!
