TORONTO, Canada—Toronto FC have parted ways with head coach Chris Armas, 11 games into the Major League Soccer season.
“Toronto FC announced today that the club has relieved Chris Armas of his duties as Head Coach, effective immediately,” the club released in a statement. “Further details will be addressed at a 4:00 p.m. press conference with TFC President Bill Manning and General Manager Ali Curtis.”
The announcement comes on the heels of an embarrassing 7-1 loss to DC United, the biggest margin of defeat in franchise history. The Reds are currently riding a six-game losing streak and sit last place in all of Major League Soccer.
Armas leaves Toronto with the Reds owning a 1-8-2 record in MLS this season.
