Four games in four points. Hey, at least we're not last, right? And now, an unexpectedly resurgent FC Dallas is visiting BMO Field, looking to extend their Toronto winning streak (notwithstanding their 2010 MLS Cup Final loss) -- they haven't lost here since 2007 when they were soundly trounced 4-0. But the North Texans have twelve points in five games, and are eager to add to that tally.
David Ferreira will once again play a key role, but instead of Kevin Hartman and Brek Shea, he's now joined by Raul Fernandez and the prodigial son, Kenny Cooper, along with a host of supporting actors that includes Michel (the Brazilian) and the ever present George John and Zach Loyd. They've gotten out of a few scrapes so far in the young season, but this lineup won't be a pushover. As for Eric Hassli? Well, let's just say little has changed since his time in Toronto (ergo, expensive sub.)
As for TFC? One thing's for sure: there won't be Terry Dunfield, who was injured during practice earlier this week. It won't be known how long he'll be out -- and to make matters worse, Danny Califf has a case of the sniffles, but at least there, Gale Agbossoumonde is available to cover. But who will cover for the talismanic powers that Dunfield seems to bring to the side? Perhaps a diamond in the rough will appear today...or could it be Andrew Wiedeman, of all people?
And if that diamond does/doesn't appear, will you cash in by getting the right result in our Smarter Than Winter contest? (Entries close before kickoff.)
So join us, won't you. We'll have team news once it hits twitter at 3ish, and random nonsense before and throughout the game, so feel free to chat with us and follow along, and either cheer or remonstrate with us!
