Footy Talks: A night of soccer talk with Toronto’s top personalities

We’re looking forward to a night dedicated to the beautiful game and would love to meet some of you there.

Homestand Sports are extending their speaker series to soccer with the debut of ‘Footy Talks’ at the Rivoli in downtown Toronto on Wednesday night.

You may have heard of Homestand through events such as Puck Talks and Pitch Talks - dedicated to hockey and baseball respectively - at which some of the city’s brightest sporting minds and personalities join an audience of fans for an evening of questions, debate and discussion.

With soccer making as much noise as ever in Toronto thanks to Toronto FC’s MLS Cup challenge and the upcoming birth of the Canadian Premier League, Footy Talks will be born on Wednesday, May 24 at 7pm.

Waking the Red is excited to have been invited to attend the event, which will feature Kristian Jack, Steven Caldwell (both TSN), James Sharman, John Molinaro (both Sportsnet), Laura Armstrong (the Toronto Star) and Joshua Kloke (The Athletic) on the panel as well as a special guest appearance from TFC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko. The evening will be hosted by TSN’s Andi Petrillo.

We’d also love to meet some of our readers there, and are pleased to extend a $5 discount off the regular ticket price of $25 by using the code ‘wakingthered’. You can purchase tickets at this link.

Doors are at 7pm at the Rivoli, which is located at 334 Queen St W at Queen & Spadina, 10 minutes walk west of Osgoode station.

Homestand Sports also have basketball and hockey events coming up in Toronto in June. For more information, please visit their website.
