Sebastian Giovinco has set a few records in MLS now, and this might be another one: the Italian accounts for three of this week’s five MLS Goal of the Week nominations.
We’re not sure if that has ever been done before. Here they are:
All three of Seba’s goals this week - the free-kicks against the Philadelphia Union and the Montreal Impact and the last-minute volley at Stade Saputo - are up for the prize.
You can cast your vote at this link.
Unfortunately, Giovinco is suffering from a split vote. His three goals have earned 48% of the total votes cast at the time of writing but Darlington Nagbe’s chip for Portland against Colorado is the single most popular effort on 29%.
If you want to see Seba get the award, vote for the volley against Montreal. That’s the top choice of his trio so far on 24%.
