Get a discount on tickets as Footy Talks returns to Toronto

Join us for another night of soccer talk.

Mathew Tsang

Footy Talks will make its return to Toronto on Thursday, October 5, with another lineup of some of the city’s top soccer personalities set to discuss Toronto FC, the Canadian Premier League and more.

Once again, Waking the Red is delighted to be able to offer a 25% discount on tickets by using the promo code ‘wakingthered’. Tickets cost $20 ($15 with the code) plus a small booking fee.

There are three panels lined up for this year’s event. Doors are at 7 p.m. at the Rivoli (Queen & Spadina).

The first will see Toronto FC reporters Joshua Kloke (The Athletic), Laura Armstrong (the Toronto Star) and John Molinaro (Sportsnet) discuss all things Reds.

Canadian Premier League project manager Paul Beirne will then be the subject of a one-on-one interview before The Footy Show is reborn with Kristian Jack (now TSN), James Sharman, Brendan Dunlop and Thomas Dobby (all Sportsnet).

The evening will be hosted by Toronto FC social host Caroline Szwed.

You can buy tickets at this link. Add however many you need to your order and then apply our discount code on the checkout screen. The Facebook event page is here.

Both myself and my fellow Waking the Red editor Mitchell Tierney will be in attendance, and we’d love to see a few readers there. The first Footy Talks, held back in May, was a lot of fun and this promises to be more of the same.

The full address of the Rivoli (I can vouch that the food is good, by the way) is 334 Queen St W and the nearest subway station is Osgoode - walk west for 10 minutes and you’ll hit it on the right.

Footy Talks is run by Homestand Sports, who also have hockey and basketball events coming up. Visit their website for more details.
