Welcome to the 2018 Toronto FC season! With it comes another chance to prove your worth against your fellow Waking the Red readers in our prediction league.
If you don’t know how it works already, it’s easy. I’ll post a story like this before every TFC match this year. All you have to do is comment below with your predicted scoreline (we might add more during the playoffs or other big games, but for now, just give us a score).
You get two points for picking the winner (or a draw), and one each for correctly guessing how many goals TFC and their opponent score. So, if you’d predicted that the Reds would beat the Seattle Sounders 2-0, you would’ve got four points for the MLS Cup.
As always, we’ll try to figure out a prize for the winner at the end of the season (if a WTR staffer wins, we’ll pass it off to the next-highest player). Congratulations again, by the way, to our 2017 winner Footy Wolverine Go Blue.
If everything goes to plan, TFC can play a maximum of 51 games this year (not counting the knockout round in the playoffs). That’s a lot of points to be won.
The Reds kick things off on Tuesday against the Colorado Rapids in the CONCACAF Champions League’s round of 16. They only saw the Rapids once last season, drawing 1-1 at BMO Field. What do you think the score will be this time?
Good luck!
