Rate the Reds: Toronto FC 0-2 Columbus Crew

What did you think?

MLS: Columbus Crew at Toronto FC Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Nobody really saw that coming. Toronto FC were beaten 2-0 at home by the Columbus Crew to begin their MLS season, despite fielding arguably the most talented lineup (on paper, at least) that the league has ever seen.

It just wasn’t Toronto’s day, as chance after chance came short of going in.

Gregory van der Wiel made his TFC debut, and Ager Aketxe started for the first time. What did you think of them? How about Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore, both of whom came very close to scoring, but couldn’t find the net?

It seems a little silly to name a man of the match from that performance, but we’ll have to try anyway. Jonathan Osorio looked good, continuing his run of strong form. Did anybody else stand out to you?
