Rate the Reds: Sebastian Giovinco leads the way — again

This one was pretty predictable.

MLS: Philadelphia Union at Toronto FC Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

You guys were clearly very thoroughly pleased by Toronto FC’s performance on Friday night against the Philadelphia Union. Pretty much nobody looked bad in TFC’s 3-0 home win, which put them resoundingly back in the win column in MLS.

Nobody had even close to a negative rating this time, and our last-place finisher — Jason Hernandez — emerges with a +36 rating from just about a minute of game time. Marky Delgado is the only other player with a score below +100.

Sebastian Giovinco is, predictably, the man of the match again, after making important contributions on two goals, and scoring a beautiful one himself. Fan voters were also generous to Victor Vazquez and Gregory van der Wiel, who both had themselves a very good night.

All in all, it was a comprehensive win for Toronto FC. Here are the overall rankings, but I wouldn't put too much stock into who’s ahead of who — they were all pretty good, it seems.

1. Sebastian Giovinco +192
2. Victor Vazquez +180
3. Gregory van der Wiel +162
4. Alex Bono +152
5. Auro +138
6. Ager Aketxe +134
7. Jay Chapman +126
8. Nicolas Hasler +124
9. Greg Vanney +121
10. Jonathan Osorio +108
11. Ashtone Morgan +107
12. Michael Bradley +106
13. Jordan Hamilton +105
14. Marky Delgado +56
15. Jason Hernandez +36
