Toronto FC pulled off a gutsy draw in Atlanta on Saturday, with a stoppage time equalizer preserving a 2-2 result at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. They jumped over two teams in the standings, and now they sit eighth in the Eastern Conference.
The Reds are now unbeaten in five straight, including three straight MLS games. Next up, they’ve got the first leg of the Canadian Championship final in Vancouver on Wednesday, followed by a home date with New York City FC on Saturday.
The season pretty much begins anew from here, now that we’ve seen that TFC are still able to play with the best in MLS. They have a lot of work to do to get back into the playoff picture, but it no longer seems impossible — funny how quickly that can change.
